| Greetings
to all those who actually read this little bit information!
I'm sure that all of you have read the literature by Vince
that details the history of this wonderful little site. What's
that you say? You haven't read it? Well my friend, go take
a look at this
link.
Anyway, now that
you've learned the history of this fabulous site, you probably
would like to see some of the layouts of the previous versions
of this site (shut up! You want to see them now!).
In ye olde times...
Get your vomit
bags ready children because what you are about to see will
surely disagree with your stomach. That's right, this is
what our old Geocities site looked like.
Yes, take a long
look. I know that you are very afraid. This site was so
bad; it still gives some members of the staff nightmares.
Remember, however, that if it weren't for this site pioneering
the way, the Brotherhood of Britannia wouldn't be what it
is today. I recommend that we move on before all of you
little children feel like tearing your eyes out from viewing
this old layout.
All right kiddies,
I think that it is also appropriate that we show a picture
of the old message board. You can laugh at the lack of posts
(c'mon, admit it, you do like to laugh at dead boards).
Here's a picture:
The colors may
have been ugly, the users may have been lacking, but the
spirit of the Brotherhood message board was born inside
of this one.
Well, that was
a bunch of sappy silliness. This board was basically for
the old Ultima Online guild that was started by Vince (interestingly
enough, it still exists on two shards. Go figure). Its life
was short, and few tears are shed for its death.
Let us move on.
A Move to the Future
As you already
know, Vince eventually decided to start fresh with the site.
He later wound up with this layout:
Yes, the Brotherhood
site had come a long way. This layout is full of fond memories.
Staff members with actual experience and/or talent joined
(though the old staff members certainly were very skilled
in their own right). We created a message board that had
people post in it (wow, aren't you proud of us yet?). The
crown jewel of the time spent with this layout was when
Gaming Ground Zero decided to affiliate with us (not to
mention that this time around our other affiliates didn't
die within a year).
It's true; this
is when the Brotherhood of Britannia really began to take
off. The greatest improvement was that we had quality content
(not to mention we now had a layout that wasn't so displeasing
to the eye). We also began to get hits, which was something
the older version of the Brotherhood of Britannia lacked.
*gasp* It's Changed Again!
Eventually,
that winds of change arose again. This time, thanks to Blood
Reaper, we had a layout we could be proud of. Here's the
picture:
Look at the organization
of the site. Don't you just love it?
This was the
grandest of layouts yet, and it holds oh so many memories.
Remember the time Vince did that one thing to Shade??? I
know I do. Yes, kids, this layout went through at lot...
and some of you may even remember it.
Eventually,
we also changed the colors of our message forum to match
the current site configuration. Take a look at this:
Isn't that snappy?
I know that all of you just wub (love) it.
More New Layout Funness!!!
Breaking news! The Brotherhood of Britannia, in order to
bring you more quality in your favorit rm2k resource site,
has improved their layout yet again!
Anyway, this is the Brotherhood's current layout... not
too shabby eh? Thanks to Blook Reaper (yet again), we've
been able to bring you this beauty. We hope you enjoy it
and that it will bring you years (months? weeks?) of valuable
use.
The Shape of Things to Come...
Over time, the site's layout has changed quite a bit. One
thing has never changed, however. We have always sought
to bring you quality resources for every body's favorite
C++ compiler (rm2k) and we will continue to do so in the
future.
Who really knows
what the site will be like in the future. Always remember
that we will continue to have the friendly and helpful staff
that we have now and to bring you, the rm2k user, the best
resources possible.
I hope that you've
enjoyed this brief look into our past. Until next time,
CYA! |
