The Chimera Report By DGuy19 The Chimera Report By DGuy19
Review by Vince401
The Infamous game with complete CBS and CMS and some very extreme eye candy. So how does it level up on a Vince scale? Let's have a look.

Graphics: Perhaps the thing that came out and grabbed me first when IChimeraScreen2.gif (43399 bytes) played Chimera was the glorious Eye Candy. The use of pictures and panoramas is so well done that you'd swear you were on your old SNES. The spaceship scene looks just as good as do all the chipsets and character poses that abound through the game. How could I not give it a perfect score?

Graphics Final Score: 20/20

Playability: Both the CBS and the CMS were not only in working order they were beautiful and nearly flawless. The CBS was especially well done with a Parasite Eve type control scheme. It fits the game perfectly and boast some of the most impressive and flawless programming ever done in rm2k. It was however difficult to grasp the system at first. The opening tutorial (if you can call it that) was loaded with ebonics and other hard to decipher words. It's a great system but it could have been explained better.

Playability Final Score: 18/20

Story: Story? What story? As far as Chimera report goes the story is pretty weak. The game is short rounding out about a half hour of gameplay. Certainly nothing revolutionary. The game felt more like it was just made to show off the CBS.

Story Final Score: 13/20

Music: If the music was original it wasn't very good. It fit the sci-fi theme well but nothing really gave me that extra push that made it all better.

Music Final Score: 15/20

Finishing The Job: All in all The Chimera Report offered entertainmentChimeraScreen1.gif (18332 bytes) galore but when the real meat was needed it didn't give me what I wanted. A richer storyline could have added SO much to this game and given it an absolutely perfect score. But since it failed in that section I can't give it the full points it deserves. The hero was the macho loner/rebel type which was everything I expected. The graphics however were so beautiful I had to give it at least a 17.

Finishing The Job Final Score: 17/20

FINAL SCORE: 83/100 = B

Grading Scale

100%-90% = A - Wow you truly are god. Let me kiss your feet plz.

89%-70% = B - You've got Kinks to work out but it's still a very good game worth the time.

69%-50% = C - Meh it's not bad but it's not great. You've still got a lot of work to do.

49%-30% = D - Wow this really is crap. This is so bad I've put an ancient death curse on you.

39% and below = F - This score shouldn't even be possible. Your game has to be the worst piece of crap to ever grace this earth. I feel sorry for you and if you ever have offspring let me assure you they will be disgraced to know you once made a game this crappy.

Please keep in mind these are all MY opinions. You might love this game so there's no harm in trying it out.
